Obituary of Suzanne Lynn Praegitzer

Suzanne Lynn Praegitzer passed away at her home in Coto De Caza on Sunday, September 4, 2022. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas Praegitzer; and is survived by her children, Michael Praegitzer and Danielle Praegitzer; parents, John and Elizabeth Hancock, and her siblings, Donna Hancock, Randy Hancock, and David Hancock (Stacie). Born Suzanne Hancock in Long Beach, CA, she was the oldest of four children. After graduating from Long Beach Wilson High School, Suzi studied at the University of Southern California, where she earned a degree in marketing and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. Suzi met her future husband, Tom, shortly after her graduation from USC and his from CSULB. They were married in Long Beach in 1988 and welcomed the birth of their first child in 1994. Suzi was an amazingly strong and resilient wife and mother. After the premature death of her husband in 1998, Suzi spent all of her remaining years devoted to the upbringing and well-being of her two children. Suzi had a huge heart and loved being "Mom" to all. She took in many children, young adults, and pets when they were in need. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. A service will be held at 2:00pm on October 2, 2022 at Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.

These photos were from 2005 when Suzi visited Sydney with Danielle and Michael. We are on the ferry to Luna Park on the harbour.
When the Hancocks lived in Sydney during the early 70’s, Suzi and Donna came to my school, Kambala - my memories include being introduced to popcorn, angel food cake and egg throwing competitions. I have fond memories of sleep overs at Point Piper, catching the bus to the city and Double Bay. I was only able to visit Suzi in the US a few times but we always kicked off where we had left off. Her visits to Sydney were always busy catching up with her Aussie friends and I always looked forward to spending a day with her.
Hard to believe we won’t be seeing her beautiful smiling face again , taken from us far too young. Rest In Peace Suzi ❤️

To all the Hancock family...I was another of the Kambala girls in Sydney way back in the 70's... So very sad to hear of Suzi's passing...I have always held such wonderful memories of Donna & Suzi & her mum, dad & the 2 boys...Whenever I'm around Point Piper in Sydney I remember our time in the beautiful home..I also remember Suzi played the part of Alice in Alice in Wonderland in the Kambala school play..she was perfect for the role! I'm so sorry for your loss..I know Suzi will be greatly missed. Sending love & peace at this very sad time..Ilana Weinberg (Ensly)

My family and I have lost our little lady with the big smile. Suzi and Donna had to give the OK for me to date and eventually marry my wife Leslie. I was blessed to keep in contact with her up to her passing. Blessed to have Suzi and the Hancock's in my life.

I was really sad to hear of Suzi's passing and my deepest condolences to her family at this very sad time. We were friends when she and her family lived in Sydney as kids. I have such fond memories of spending days at her family's lovely home overlooking Sydney Harbour and one very clear but random memory is being introduced to angel food cake which the Hancock's brought with them from the US and which none of us Aussie kids had ever heard of! We thought it was amazing! We had a lot of fun as young teenagers finding our way in the world.
I visited Suzi several times in California over the years. Suzi was a generous, kind and warm person. All my thoughts and prayers are with Suzi's immediate family today, and her siblings - I particularly have very fond memories of Donna and you are all in my thoughts. With love from Francesca (Henri) Hynes xx

Suzi was my best friend in Sydney Australia in the early 1970’s. We were at school together - both being fairly new to Sydney and we got to know each other’s families well. We both moved away by the mid 1970’s. She visited Sydney once or twice, and I visited her in Chicago and Los Angeles later on. It’s been a long time since we’ve been in contact. I’m very very sad to hear of her passing and send all my love to her family. Deborah (Debbie ) Burdett.
